More Bridal Show Pics

We had a blast!

The Navy Ball

This has nothing to do with Bliss, but it's funny. This is the CO (the head guy in charge- he's the one with the stripes in the middle) of Naval Base Ventura County (which includes Point Mugu, Port Hueneme, and San Nicholas Island)....

doing The Macarena

We just went to the Navy Ball this past weekend. Of course, you know me- all I could think about was the menu choices and the flowers ; ) Please note the balloon towers in the macarena picture. This would be a 'don't' for your wedding, but somehow added to the 'CO-doing-the macarena' vibe. As did the red white and dyed blue flower centerpieces. Somehow, it worked here... it said to me 'this is what America is all about- singing the National Anthem among baby's breath, butter balls, and balloons. No one cared- we celebrated and honored those we've lost and it was a magical evening. Watching the Admiral do the electric slide wasn't so bad either.

N & B

I'm keeping their names under wraps, but I have to tell you about an amazing couple we have the honor of working with right now. This pair is gorgeous, gracious, and perfectly in love. As a wedding producer, lot's of personalities come in my door. We see relationship dynamics of all kinds. Sometimes we wonder why the couple is getting married, sometimes we laugh with them about their pre-wedding blunders, and sometimes a couple reminds us why we do what we do. Every couple has a unique story to tell and they don't even need to use words. It comes out in their color choices, their menu, their vision for their perfect day. And the best celebrations happen when a couple is truly good for (and good to) each other- when they are getting married as a celebration, not a show. Love yourself and your fiance deeply and you will have nothing but bliss on your wedding day! Thanks, N & B for inspiring us- we can't wait to celebrate with you!!! Check out the cover of our new wedding magazine, Southern Wedding Style, for our big reveal of N & B's wedding.... due on news stands Summer 2007

Welcome to the Bliss Family...

As we all recover from the hustle and bustle of preparing for the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion Bridal Show, I think we are getting back to the real reason of why we do what we do. It takes so much work to get ready for the show, ordering flowers, making gifts, hot-gluing until the wee hours, and then talking to all of the magnificent brides who are each so very different! In the weeks after, we begin to schedule one on one meetings with each of you young women and get to know even more about you, your fiance, your family, and your dreams about your day. After each meeting, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to work in a position that allows me to dream with you, design with you, counsel you, and create pure magic for your wedding. I thank you for every opportunity you allow me to do what I do. It is Pure Bliss!

Bachelorette Par-tay!

I just got back from a super crazy, exciting, fun weekend in Atlanta! I think I have the best group of Bridesmaids in the world, they did such a great job planning my bachelorette party. It couldn't have been more perfect. We stayed at Twelve, an upscale condo that has the most magnificent view of the city and a super modern feel with platform beds and concrete walls. We went out for sushi at a great restaurant on Friday night and finished the night off with drinks at East Andrew's. We spent most of the day Saturday recooperating from Friday night and shopping at Ikea - what an amazing store! Later that night, the party began. We had dinner at ONE - a very posh upscale restaurant - and shared tapas. Just as we were leaving the restaurant up drove a limo! And who got it for us? My wonderful, fabulous finance!!!!! I definitely teared up! We ventured back to the condo where the girls showered me with lots of fun gifts. They had super cute tanks made for us all to wear, and they made me wear a pink feather boa with condoms all over it! =) At least that was the extent of the humiliating clothing, I must say they did a very classy job dressing me. We went out to Cosmo Lava, an upscale bar and we partied into the wee hours of the morning! I can't even tell you how much fun I had, but I know I am glad to be home with my fabulous fiance! I couldn't wish for a better guy! 19 days to go and I am going to be a MRS!! WOW!

We're Published!

In a couple short months you will find Bliss all over the new Coastal Weddings Magazine! We had a blast writing for CW, who will feature two articles and a boatload of Bliss pics in the January Issue. Brenda Carraway, publisher of CW, is just an amazing woman and happens to own The Fashion Connection in Cordova Square (a lovely selection of gowns). Special thanks to Brenda and Donna Freckman, editor of CW, for such a fantastic experience with this issue. The articles will feature stories about how to make your wedding YOURS, Hollywood weddings we've worked on, and some vital wedding advice for any savvy bride. We cant wait till January! Thanks CW!

Hello Pensacola!

One week ago I woke up in Erie, Pennsylvania to about 2 inches of snow...and today I woke up in Pensacola, Florida to warm, sunny, beautiful weather! I am so excited that I got to move to the Sunshine State to continue chasing my dream of planning extravagant weddings. The move was not an easy one, though! 17 hours of driving (which, thank heavens, was left to my someday-husband Joe), some inclement weather, apparently a time-zone change, and 5 tanks of gas later...we finally made it! I couldn't be happier with the big move. I've been ready for a change of scenery since about BIRTH! We've had such a warm welcome, too! There's a very dramatic change in human behavior between the north and south. In the north, you can barely get someone to thank you for holding the door open for them. In the south, you can't even open a door for yourself! There's always someone who is willing to help out with anything. It's a great feeling! Now I know the true meaning of southern hospitality. I'm so glad to be here, and I'm thrilled to be able to work with some Gulf Coast brides! Everything's bigger and better in the south, right???

Save the Date!

We're feeling the holiday spirit a little early this year, so as our gift to you we're giving every bride an hour of planning and design on us! (And, by the way, there's a free wedding up for grabs on our website)

Welcome Samantha!

Our newest member of the Bliss Team is one talented gal! This artist/floral designer/newlywed herself is FAB!

"I'm so excited to now be an official member of the Bliss Team as a floral designer and portrait artist! The Bragg Mansion bridal show was fantastic. I may be a little biased, but I think our booth was one of (if not THE) best out there! My favorite part of the day was definitely during the bridal fashion show. A couple came out modelling wedding fashions, and the "groom" proposed to the "bride" on stage. What a great and inventive way to pop the question! She looked so completely ecstatic and suprised. I can vouch for the suprise factor, because I saw her oh-so-lovingly hit him on the arm on their way back down the runway. Ha!"
